The more I browse the web, the more I see average citizens inventing cool, eco-friendly gadgets, yet it takes years and years for companies with hundreds to thousands of engineers to add new energy-efficient technologies to their products and production chains. This is exactly what I stumbled upon today. Richard Gryzch of Arizona, has developed what he believes to be the first completely solar-charged electric motorcycle…at least the first with this bike’s power.
The Solar Flyer (his nickname for the bike) tops 90 mph and can travel up to 50 miles at a time. Not bad, from a small-town bike enthusiast. It doesn’t stop here. Richard has a 300 mile plan for the bike. Now, wouldn’t it be great if our auto companies had this kind of initiative in developing vehicles with completely free energy?
Richard rides this bike everyday and has yet to use a single drop of gas.
