It’s All “Goode”: ABC’s latest series mocks the “green” life.

Mike Judge has a new animated show on his hands.  Who?  If you are familiar with King of the Hill or Beavis and Butthead, you are familiar with Mr. Judge.  He created them.

With that said, I would like to introduce you to ‘The Goode Family’.  Mike Judge and the people behind those two hit shows have created a new series on ABC, about an obsessively “green” family who live an obsessively politically correct lifestyle. The reason their last name is Goode?  You guessed it.  They’re always striving to be good.  For example, they reuse their shopping bags, drive hybrid cars, compost, recycle, conserve water through letting yellow…mellow, etc.  They are also vegans.  To sum it up, the family lives by the model “What would Al Gore do?”

While ‘The Goode Family’ gives an “obsessive” vibe, mocking far left environmentalists with hybrid cars that are covered by 30 bumper stickers and the embarrassment of forgetting their reusable shopping bags when visiting the local, overpriced organic grocery store, you can’t help feel empowered by them.  The Goodes are merely well-meaning.  Viewers will find relief in the Goodes, being welcomed as a family just trying to do what they can to help the Earth.

“The Goode Family” premiered this Wednesday at 9pm on ABC.  Not to worry, you can also watch the full episodes after they air, on ABC.com.  The season premiere is already available.
